Time in Hand against Distance

Just how much time in hand do you need to build up to complete London Edinburgh London within the time limit?

This chart shows time in hand against distance for all riders. Those coloured grey did not finish the event within the time limit for their chosen start. Generally if a rider gained 10 hours time in hand by Thirsk going northbound, then they had a 80% chance or more of completing the event in time.

There are exceptions to any rule of course. There’s a rider from Thailand who was almost 8 hours down at Pocklington control going southbound but fought control by control to claw the time back to finish the event in time. Just shows fight, against the odds and you can succeed. Bravo!
